Paige Russel
It’s hardly an exaggeration to say that the prolific Paige Russel has appeared in nearly every Audio Drama ever produced. As one producer said: “Print out a script and start recording, and there she is!” But as those who have discovered Paige Russel knows, she’s also infamous for being cut from the projects she appears in, and for never being credited.
Paige Russel is known for her ability to overlap with the previous line spoken, and surprisingly even with the following line. She is related to Audio Drama regulars Doug Barking and Lough D. Humm. Over the last few years Paige Russel has started loosing a lot of work to E. Reeder and D.G. Tal-Sol Ushons, and she’s been in a long standing feud with Reed Ingoff Ascrean.
Still, there are few Audio Drama celebrities who can match Paige Russel’s impressive career, spanning ten decades, going right back to the infancy of the radio play. As Richard Hughes famously said when making the very first radio play ever produced, “A Comedy of Danger” for the BBC in 1924: “Stop! Go back! Not Paige Russel, again! God dammit, Paige Russell is going to be the bane of many a radio editor. Get me a glass of Scotch.”
Paige Russel played a significant part in season 3, but has been cut completely from The Amelia Project.
