Ah! Well, tonight, thousands of kids will be putting their boots beside the fireplace hoping for St. Nicholas to fill them with candy or coins or toys over the course of the night.

But! The naughty kids will be afraid that 'Zwarte Pieten' or "Père Fouettard" or "Knecht Ruprecht" or "Parkelj" or "Krampus" - he goes by many names - will fill their boots with coal or ashes, or with sticks so their parents can whip them with. Or worse, that they'll be stuffed in a sack and abducted! Or perhaps salted and boiled -
